Catering for a working breakfast

Posted on: 13 September 2017

It can be hard to find time to get everyone in your team together for a catchup, especially if people are very busy. A working breakfast can be a great time to catch u and chat and often people are happy to come into work a little earlier if they have the promise of a yummy breakfast waiting for them.

Here are some tips to help the breakfast turn out well.

Organise catering from a local bakery (including delivery)

While it can be tempting to try and get everyone to bring in something for the breakfast you run the risk of people forgetting one or more items and people getting stressed out over their contribution. Even if you have a limited budget an experienced bakery can work with you to create a varied menu that has something for everyone that you work with. It is a good idea to have a broad range of foods available, as some people prefer a light breakfast of fruits, toast and yoghurts while some people prefer heartier options like pastries and bacon laced treats. Bakeries can usually come up with solutions to turn nearly any common breakfast food into a suitable bakery treats, such as creating a bacon and egg tart, if you let them know what kinds or food might suit the staff.

Line up coffee and teas

It is also a great idea if you don't already have a good coffee machine in the office to organise for a coffee cart or a delivery of coffee to the office for the breakfast. You can get everyone to submit their order the day before and get a large delivery straight to the office at a time that suits you.

Market the breakfast well

If you are making more effort with this breakfast and getting a great caterer in it's a good idea to let everyone know what yummy food options will be awaiting them. Ask the caterer if they can send through some promotion materials or a link to a website so that people can see some of their dishes. This can help to get everyone a little excited about the breakfast and make them feel inspired to come even if they have to be in the office a little earlier.

Using a bakery to provide the catering for your working breakfast, and serving handheld food, makes it much easier to clean up afterwards as well as making the event much easier to organise.
